With the market sector requirements increasing, MSP started to find that their previous supplier for Composite Housings was beginning to suffer some quality issues. Having found MPM’s website, it was easy to understand and evaluate them as a supplier. The team at MSP could watch a virtual tour online and saw that they were going to be a proficient and professional supplier.

Following this, they came to see the factory and meet the team. The CEO and mechanical engineer made the trip and were excited and pleased by what they found. The CEO, Simon, has a background in boat building, and it meant that his knowledge of composites allowed him to really understand the processes at MPM.

QUALITY

Initial test orders were placed for evaluation. As soon as they saw the quality of the initial moulds, they knew that they had found a great supplier and that the quality of the product was going to be spot on.

ACCURACY

MSP were the first MPM customer to take advantage of this new CNC facility. The CNC patterns were completed in less than two weeks, shortening average industry standards’ lead time (when buying in) by around 50%. This, combined with the precision of the in-house 3D scanner, helped with inspection and validation, ensuring unmatched accuracy and quality.

PROCESS AND PRODUCTION

MPM encourages weekly/monthly meetings and keeps an 'Open Items' log of queries and challenges, which has developed a collaborative solution-finding culture. Even when faced with challenges, MPM are always proactive and finds the most effective solution for both parties. “As our partnership has evolved, document control, design changes and drawing revisions were handled more effectively, streamlining the production process. This has helped us plan our own production upstream – with access to the new customer portal at MPM, this also allows us to check our orders at any time from anywhere.” The partnership is continuing to grow, and MSPs
are placing more orders with confidence.
