Product Development

Our team has over 45 years of experience in the development of designs and moulds in GRP – as such we can work with you and your team to develop your requirements and ideas to produce the best possible product.

Continually investing in this area – we have now introduced a 3D Scanning Gun which will add an even more precise layer to the process of developing your pattern. Cross-referencing this with the CAD drawing will offer you peace of mind that your products will be exactly what is required.

All this means that before we even put your mould into our production plan, there is an extensive level of quality control that is market-leading. Add this to our collaborative approach with you, the customer, once the design is signed off you can relax, knowing that we have thought of everything.

Benefits of Research and Development

  • MPM leads in the research and design elements of your brief.

  • We work with the customer to make sure all parameters are met.

  • We produce designs for sign-off.

  • Once the design is produced, we can research a bill of materials (spec required).

  • Create a proposal and as soon as it's signed off we can move into production with a clear understanding of what the customer requires.

FAQS

Yes, at MPM, we can transform your idea or sketch into detailed designs and create both the pattern and mould, guiding you from concept through to production-ready tooling.

3D scanning is a technology that captures the exact shape and dimensions of physical objects by creating detailed digital models, which can be used for design, reverse engineering, and quality control.

3D scanning improves design accuracy, accelerates reverse engineering, enables digital archiving, and enhances quality control by providing detailed, precise measurements of physical objects.

Quality control includes regular inspections, prototype testing, and digital verification through 3D scanning and CAD comparisons to ensure moulds meet design specifications before full production.

Yes, scanned 3D data can be processed and converted into highly accurate CAD models, enabling reverse engineering, design adjustments, and precise tooling creation.

Validating mould patterns against CAD data ensures the tooling matches design specifications exactly, reducing errors, improving part quality, and minimising costly rework during production.

Innovate - Quality - Reliable - Team - Leaders

"Our ability to offer our clients this product has more than doubled since we have found MPM as our supplier. An amazing team, efficient, professional and exceptionally good at what they do."
