MPM Group Triumphs at Bradford Dragonboat Festival's Multi Charity Championship

29th July 2024

Bradford's annual Dragonboat Festival, held at Roberts Park on July 21st 2024 saw MPM Group take on the challenge as one of the nearly 100 teams competing in the Multi-Charity Championship.

Made up of 17 colleagues, the MPM team made preparations for the event by taking part in 2 training sessions with their in-house Dragonboat expert John. Following these sessions, d-day arrived and the team made their way to Saltaire to take to the water and put their teaching into practice.

With their usual positive attitude and drive to succeed, the team clocked up a win in lap one – a lap of 200metres. This was quickly followed by more of the same for the second round, meaning the team easily earned their place in the third and final round.

With determination and a deep desire to win emanating from the whole team, Ben took the opportunity to galvanise the energy with a rousing team talk as they made their way to the tense final round. Keeping focus on the end goal, the MPM crew outpaced their competitors in the 200-metre race, showcasing exceptional teamwork and technique and taking the overall victory.

Another success notched up for the MPM team demonstrates what united team efforts can achieve. Much like the synergy seen with BTCC’s Aron Taylor-Smith who is sponsored by MPM, it is a whole team effort that ensures the trophy win. Whether there’s one person on the podium, or a team of 17 taking the applause, there are always many more in the background who enable these achievements.

MPM is proud to place such importance on the value of the team and delighted that the team efforts paid off for the trophy–winning title!
